During March 1-4th, StuyPulse attended the South Florida Regional. There, members had a great time and experience, learning new lessons, enjoying the competition, and making new friends and connections. Rafael, our robot, ranked 8th out of the 48 teams, and we were chosen to be on the 2nd alliance with teams 1744 and 6038 for the elimination rounds. We unfortunately lost at Quarterfinals due to connection problems with our robot. However, our team won the Regional Chairman’s Award, the most prestigious award a FRC Team can receive, qualifying us to attend the St. Louis World Championship, during April 26-29th. We will also be competing in the NYC Regional from April 6-9th, and our team cannot wait for both of these competitions!
Here’s the Week 6 and FINAL newsletter of the season! Pictures and the robot reveal video will be out very soon!
Here’s the Week 2 Newsletter! Make sure to check it out! (Our CAD design is finally here!)
Kickoff was a blast! Excited members, mentors, alumni, coaches, and parents gathered in the theatre to watch the live stream of the unveil of FIRST Steamworks. (Did you see our team featured in the song?!?) After watching the live stream together, we ran through important parts of the game manual to get everyone familiar with the rules and the specifics. We then broke into groups to strategize, and discussed possible game plans. We finished off the day coming back together as a team and sharing our thoughts on what we discussed, and went home feeling excited for what the next six weeks would bring! StuyPulse wishes the best of luck to all teams, and we can’t wait to see all the cool, steaming robots on the field at competition!
Team 694 wishes everyone a joyous holiday season and a happy new year!
